Requirements for Student Visa – Documents & Process

Study abroad is always exciting, but process of student visa is very daunting. So make sure you know what you can and can’t do to get your student visa process sorted quickly and painlessly. Here are few things that will make it easier for you and will help you judge your eligibility for student visa:

Offer Letter:

This is the first thing that you need to get in order to apply for study visa for any country including USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Singapore, Cyprus, UK, Malta, South Africa, etc. If you don’t have acceptance letter from a college or university in the country of your choice, you will not be able to apply for student visa. For that, you will need your IELTS Score card, academics and experience (if any) and evidence of tuition fee and living cost payable.

Proof of funds:

You will need to proof your ability to support whole your tuition fee, living cost and return airfare. At this time, you just need to show your funds, but you need not to have whole funds in your bank account at this point. Proof of funds includes student loan, scholarship letter or letter showing sponsorship or financial aid.

Medical – proof of healthiness and fitness:

Some countries ask for health certificate as part of student visa documentation. Requirements vary from country to country, like in the USA, you need to prove that you do not carry any infectious disease. In Australia, you need to show Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) paperwork with your application.

More Documentation:

You will also need to submit original copies (scanned) of some important documents including IELTS Test Score (TOEFL, GRE, etc. depending on country requirement), academics, current passport – which should not expire within next six months and more.

Note: Requirements may vary from country to country.

After whole processing, when your fortune works and you get student visa, it is important to check your visa properly. Wrong information may cause huge blunder on your entry in the country of your dreams.
