  • Myth- “You should try using a variety of accents”

Truth - The PTE Speaking Exam doesn’t assess your variety of accents. However, it is mandatory for you to speak in a natural tone as well also keep the pace of your speaking at an average speed. Along with this, the PTE experts also suggest that you must not try to fake the accents while you speak.

  • Myth- “Don’t use Backspace in your PTE Exam It deducts your score in SWT”

Truth- Use of backspace is nowhere related to you scoring low marks. It does not affect your PTE Score in any way. 

  • Myth - You should skip any difficult words in “read aloud” so that you don’t say them incorrectly and lose points.

Truth - A popular myth about reading Aloud asks you not to indulge in speaking the challenging-to-pronounce words as you might make a mistake in pronunciation. But if you believe this, you are neglecting the fact that the read-aloud task assesses your Oral Fluency and you also get the score for the content. If you try skipping the challenging words, you might not be able to convey the right meaning and also miss the essential keywords.

  •  Myth - For the “Multiple choice, choose multiple answers” tasks, you should select all the answer options when you don’t know the correct answers. This way, you’ll get full points.

Truth - According to this myth, if you are not sure about the correct option to choose while answering is Multiple-choice, Choose Multiple Answers, choose all the options given. But choosing the wrong options will affect your marks. Because this task carries negative marking for the incorrect answer. Despite, choosing the incorrect option, it is better to leave the options unmarked if you are not sure about them.

  • Myth – “Using the template in Describe Images gives you full marks in Content”

Truth – According to this myth, if you are using a template in Describe images it doesn’t show the relations and conclusions in the image which doesn’t give you marks in Content.
