The Australian government has officially announced everything about Simplified International Student Visa Framework (SSVF) that is going to replace SVP by mid-2016.

What is SSVF?

Under these changes, now student visa subclasses will reduce from eight to two and there will be only one simplified single immigration risk framework for all international students. The main purpose of this new framework is to endorse impartiality and supporting high-quality and low-risk providers.

• Subclass 500 student visa
• Subclass 590 Student Guardian Visa

• Genuine Temporary
• Entrant Enrolment
• Health and Character
• Welfare arrangements (where applicable)
• Overseas health insurance

What no longer exists?

• SVP and AL framework
• Academic requirements - no visa requirement
• Limitation in ELICOS length
• Mandatory ‘no further stay’ for shorter courses for high risk countries.

What is the purpose of this change?

SSVF is mainly implemented to make the visa processing easier for the students. It also targets the integrity analysis of students and institutes.

When will SSVF start?

It is expected to be implemented by July 2016

What parameters are set for judging the visa risk?

• Immigration risk outcome of a Student's Education provider is a university or a college where the student applies for his/her further studies.
• Country of student

How these parameters will affect the student visa processing?

Both mentioned parameters will decide the documentation required for a visa application towards financial capacity and level of English language ability that every student must know before planning to study in Australia.

What are other effecting Criteria?

Criteria for student’s genuine intention to study in Australia and GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) will remain same. Students need to do a thorough a proper research on the intended course and institution before final with these. Once Simplified International Student Visa Framework will be implemented, students will have much clear idea of requirements of institutes, quality of education offered and almost everything they want to know.
